The Mountfield 1538H-SD is a practical and powerful lawn tractor designed for maintaining large gardens and areas of grass with less effort. Its compact construction, straightforward controls and dependable petrol engine make it well suited to regular mowing across areas of up to approximately 2 acres.
Starting the tractor is simple with the electric key ignition, while the fitted headlights and parking brake provide additional convenience when operating the machine.
The hydrostatic transmission makes controlling the tractor particularly easy. Similar to driving an automatic car, there is no need to manually change gears. The foot pedal allows you to smoothly increase or reduce your speed, with a maximum speed of approximately 8.8 km/h.
Its compact dimensions and tight turning circle make the 1538H-SD easy to manoeuvre around garden features, borders and obstacles. The absence of a rear collection box also gives you greater freedom when working close to edges and in tighter spaces.
98cm Cutting Deck
The tractor is equipped with a 98cm twin-blade cutting deck, allowing you to cover a substantial area efficiently. Seven cutting-height positions are available, ranging from 25mm to 80mm, so you can select the appropriate cutting level for different lawn conditions.
450cc STIGA ST450 OHV Engine
Power comes from a 450cc STIGA ST450 OHV petrol engine, designed to provide a good balance of power, smooth operation and fuel efficiency. With routine servicing and normal maintenance, the engine is designed for dependable long-term use.
Mulching & Side Discharge
The mulching plug is supplied, allowing the tractor to finely process grass clippings and return them to the lawn. The resulting material can provide valuable nutrients back to the grass, helping support a healthy lawn while reducing the need to collect and dispose of clippings.
When conditions are not suitable for mulching, the tractor can instead be used in side-discharge mode, depositing the cut grass neatly back onto the lawn.
Easy Deck Cleaning
Cleaning after mowing is made easier with the integrated deck washing link. Simply connect a garden hose to the washing connection to help remove accumulated grass and dirt from underneath the cutting deck.
Supplied Trailer Hitch
A trailer hitch is included, allowing compatible tow-behind accessories to be used. Depending on compatibility, these can include trailers, spreaders, dethatchers and sweepers, making the tractor useful for more than just mowing.
