At the heart of the machine is a 452cc STIGA ST 500 single-cylinder petrol engine. The engine incorporates an anti-vibration system to help make operation more comfortable, particularly during longer mowing sessions. A robust cast-iron front axle adds strength and durability to the tractor’s construction.
98cm Twin-Blade Cutting Deck
The Estate 598 features a 98cm twin-blade cutting deck, providing a good balance between cutting coverage and manoeuvrability. The deck incorporates large anti-scalp wheels to help protect the lawn when working across changes in ground level.
You can select from seven cutting-height positions between 25mm and 85mm, giving you flexibility to achieve the desired lawn finish.
The tractor offers multiple ways to manage the cut grass, including collection, side discharge and mulching. The mulching kit is available separately and allows finely cut grass to be returned to the lawn, where it can naturally break down and return nutrients to the soil.
240-Litre Grass Collector
For conventional grass collection, the tractor is equipped with a spacious 240-litre rear collector. This provides plenty of capacity when mowing larger areas and reduces the frequency of emptying.
If speed is the priority, side discharge allows you to continue mowing without stopping to empty the collector. Alternatively, mulching provides another option for regularly maintained lawns.
Smooth Hydrostatic Driving
The hydrostatic transmission provides continuously variable speed control through the foot pedal, giving the tractor a driving experience similar to a small automatic vehicle. This makes it easy to adjust your speed while manoeuvring around garden features.
The rear-wheel-drive system, ergonomic steering wheel and adjustable seat contribute to comfortable and controlled handling.
